You’ve Got Mail!

Who hates getting snail mail from loved ones? No one….I sure don’t anyway. (Send me a letter and I will write back!) Getting a letter in the mail is so special tho. It means someone thought of you and took the time to share with you. It’s not just a text you send on the spot. It’s a deeper way to show gratitude towards others.

My Grandma was really good at making sure you felt loved in that way. I always had a card for my birthday in the mail or she would just randomly send letters to me on my journeys where ever I was. To be honest, I wasn’t the best at sending mail back. It wasn’t until I moved backed to Michigan that would start writing more and sharing things back and forth. I would write about things going on and she shared memories from her and grandpa’s life.

One time writing her, thinking it would be funny, I made a tiny little letter. Sent it out and a week later it was returned for being to small! Then I had to deliver it in person. Telling she just laughed and said she had done that before too.

It’s been a few years since her passing. But sometimes you forget that a person is gone. When the time nears my birthday, just for second I get excited to see if there’s a letter from her waiting.

So to honor the great woman I knew and share a piece of who she is. I’d like to present my Polaroid Cards. These are a combination of my passion for photography and the joy of writing a letter. Something simple, but full of love. We would never be who we are, if it wasn’t for the special ones in our lives. Let’s make sure we take the time and let them know.

Me And Some Pillows

You made it to the first entry of my “Journal”. Don’t worry I know this is just another blog. But as an Artist… Do it your way. Say it your way. And being an artist means sharing your story and sharing what your creations mean and why we do it. So thank you for your time. Hopefully what is shared here will help you understand my creations and maybe make you feel something.

So, the world is turning and so is my mine. A few big things have changed for me. If your this far into my life you know I have moved to Menominee Mi with my partner Garrett. I’m also no longer manager of Men’s Wearhouse. BIG difference from Traverse City. But that means changing things up for my self. I’m putting a bigger focus on my art. So I bought my name off the internet and the space for it. Here you will find whats going on in my life. Over in my Gallery page you will find my portfolio of creations. You can also see whats available for purchase as well.

Tonight I’m adding two new embroidered pillows to the Gallery. These little puffs were made with my Singer Heavy Duty machine. Fabric is hand guided along to a design, as the single needle moves.

“Rainbow Dream”
I made this piece in honor of pride this year. The design of this piece was made with a rainbow thread, to create an illusion of a maze. Like life, there can be a few ways to go about it. “Sharing” is not a big thing for me. That goes feelings…. What I want for dinner?…. And even how I present my self to others. Telling you I am gay is not the first thing I normally do. I might never share that sometimes with people. But today I am sharing that. I am blessed to share this. I am blessed with a wonderful man by my side on this path. I know I am loved for who I am. And I love myself. That’s the Rainbow Dream my dude.

“Written in the Stars” NO.1
Who doesn’t love looking at the night sky? It’s big and it is endless. Which can make you feel really small too. That’s okay though. Why worry about things so far away. Take control of whats in front of you. I wanted to move the stars in my favor. So I did. My piece of the night sky, my way!
*note* There will more of these creation soon, just different sizes and different star configurations.

Check out these Pillows and my other past work in the gallery.

So again, thank you for your time today. The goal is to sharing monthly on here if not more. Theres not much to my new web home, but feel free to check it out. Hoping to make it an experience later on as well. Can’t wait to see some of you soon in person this summer. Remember to enjoy the yourself. And feel free to share what you think of my new pillows.
